LabelMD does not collect any personal data.
No analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind.
All your data (favorites, history) stays on your device.
Drug information comes from the U.S. FDA via openFDA.
No account or login is required to use the app.

Overview

LabelMD ("we", "our", or "the app") is a drug reference tool for healthcare professionals that queries publicly available data from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration via the openFDA API. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and how it is used.

We built LabelMD with privacy as a default, not an afterthought. The simplest summary: we do not know who you are, and we have no way to find out.

Information we do not collect

LabelMD does not collect, transmit, store, or share any of the following:

Your name, email address, or any form of personal identification
Your location or IP address
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
Search queries or browsing behavior
Crash logs or diagnostic data sent to our servers
Any health or medical information

There are no third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase, Mixpanel, or Amplitude) integrated into this app. There is no advertising infrastructure of any kind.

Information stored on your device

LabelMD stores a small amount of data locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults system. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Favorite drugs List of drugs you have starred. Stored locally. Cleared when you remove the app.

Recent searches Your last 10 drug lookups. Stored locally. You can clear this at any time.

Daily search count A counter used to enforce the free plan limit. Resets daily. Stored locally.

Subscription status Verified directly with Apple via StoreKit. We do not store or process payment information.

Drug data and the openFDA API

When you search for a drug, LabelMD sends a query to the openFDA API — a public service operated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The request contains only the drug name you typed. No personal information is included in these requests.

The openFDA API is governed by its own Terms of Service. We encourage you to review their policies. FDA does not provide LabelMD with any information about individual users.

Drug labeling information provided through this app may not reflect the most current labeling approved by the FDA. Do not rely on this app to make decisions regarding medical care.

Subscriptions and payments

LabelMD offers an optional paid subscription (LabelMD Basic) processed entirely through Apple's App Store. All billing, payment processing, and subscription management is handled by Apple. We do not have access to your payment details, credit card information, or Apple ID.

To manage or cancel your subscription, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

Children's privacy

LabelMD is intended for use by licensed healthcare professionals and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
